Ascot Park has a Garden club, which meets once each week. Tasks include planting, weeding, watering, collecting seeds, harvesting, eating and sharing our produce.
At our Mother’s Day Stall we sold pot plants we had grown (flowers, herbs and chilli plants) and packets of seed we had collected and bagged.
Prices ranged from $1 to $2 per pot with all money raised going towards mulch, fertiliser and new seeds for our garden.
It was a great way to advertise the club and to get students interested in gardening.
